Dry Skin Care
March 23, 2008
Is your dry skin itchy and flaky or cracking and peeling? While dry skin may indicate any of several skin disorders such as psoriasis or eczema, you may simply have skin that is badly in need of hydration. The epidermis, or outer layer of skin, is easily dehydrated, particularly in cold, windy weather or after extensive unprotected sun exposure. Flaky, itchy skin, itchy scalp, or scaling can result. Painful chaffing can appear on the skin.
These problems can be very annoying and uncomfortable, not to mention unattractive. Severely dehydrated skin can result in dermatitis, a common skin irritation. Dermatitis can be easily treated by your physician, but it is certainly unattractive and uncomfortable during an attack of dermatitis.
To cure your serious itchy, scaly skin problems, you must avoid cleaning the skin with hot water. Always cleanse itchy, flaky or cracked skin with lukewarm water. Using water that is too hot simply removes more of the important natural protective oils produced by the skin, resulting in more itching, cracking and flaking. While skin is still damp from cleansing, liberally apply a good quality moisturizing lotion or oil to the affected areas. There are lotions specifically formulated for itchy, cracking skin problems and are available at very affordable prices. If you believe your skin problem may be psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis or another of the many skin problems, you should consult with your doctor. But for every day, common dehydrated skin, regular use of moisturizing products applied twice per day should remedy the problems quickly.
A Country Boys View on Fashion
March 22, 2008
I still can’t understand it. After all these years, I can’t make a lick of sense out of what folks consider to be in or out of fashion ? appropriate or inappropriate attire or appearance. What was "in" last year, might be "out" this year ? or it might be in but you need to change what you wear with it. What was OK for spring and summer probably won’t work well for fall and winter - weather considerations aside. And what is in was likely already in somewhere around 20 or so years ago but then it went out so something else could be in. And why don’t they just come right out and say FAKE fur instead of trying to dress it up with a fancy foreign word?
Thank God for jeans?
I gotta find the Fashion Holy Book. I know there has to be one out there somewhere that says that it’s a sin to wear the same thing as you wore last year. Or maybe it’s just sometimes that it’s a sin. I dunno. All I know is that the ladies section has to be really big. Like maybe everything but the last seven pages. Guys don’t seem to matter quite as much. It’s sort of like an afterthought thing just so we wouldn’t be offended. They ? whoever "they" is ? could have left us out completely for all I care.

Self Tanning - Tips for Getting the Best Results
March 20, 2008
Self tanning products are becoming more and more popular, many tanning salons offer a spray on tan, but many tanners still choose to get their self tan in the privacy of their own home. If you are considering using a self tanner, here are some tips on how to get the best results.
WHEN SHOULD I APPLY THE SELF TANNING PRODUCT? ? Since most self-tanning lotions have no sunscreen for protection outdoors, the best time to use self-tanners is at night before going to bed. If done earlier, allow a minimum of two hours and test for staining before putting back on your regular clothes. Note that if your lotion contains extra coloring formula or if you’re using a spray, staining could be a major issue and you won’t to go to bed and stain bedding; so use these types of products earlier in the evening or when you have more time to "dry" after applying (at least a few hours).
Skin Care Home Remedies
March 20, 2008
Natural homemade recipes for your skin are simple to make and cost-effective. What you put on your skin is just as important as what you eat. Commercial products often contain chemicals that are absorbed by your skin finding their way into the bloodstream which can be harmful to your overall health.
Virgin coconut oil/butter makes for a good moisturizer by providing a protective layer that locks in natural moisture. Coconut oil solidifies at temperatures below 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the coconut butter in small lip balm or eye cream jars or any small sterilized jar. For a lip balm, use coconut butter on its own or add peppermint or spearmint oil. As an acne treatment, add a couple of drops of tea tree, lavender, or patchouli oil. For wrinkles, add rose, orange or patchouli oil. To treat eczema, add chamomile, geranium, or orange oil. To treat broken capillaries, add rose, palmarosa, or parsley oil. To treat cellulite, add grapefruit, tangerine, or orange oil. For stretch marks, add palmarosa or neroli oil. To treat burns, add geranium, patchouli or lavender oil.
My Shopping List: Shoes, Dress, and a Hairdresser
March 19, 2008
Change is a funny thing. When seasons change, so do people and their way of thinking. For some of us it can be scary and for others a welcomed challenge. A few of us will throw out clothes we have not worn in years. Others will throw away old shoes, handbags, jewelry, hats and belts only to refill their closets with a shopping trip. Shopping is the ultimate change for a shopaholic. However, there are some of us who will shop for the ultimate change? a haircut. Whether it is a two-inch cut or a 10-inch cut, you better be sure to shop for a person who knows exactly what he/she is doing. I never thought that one must also shop for a hairstylist in the same way that we shop for the perfect dress or pair of shoes. After I saw my neighbor’s hair, I have changed my thought process.
Eczema and Psoriasis- Information on the Conditions and the Introduction of All-natural Relief
March 18, 2008
Eczema can be an acute or chronic inflammatory skin condition with scales, papules, crusts, pustules, and/or scabs. There may or may not be a watery discharge. Eczema is more realistically describing a symptom rather than a disease. It is synonymous with another word, dermatitis, used to describe the body’s external skin reaction to irritants.
Irritant contact dermatitis is a type of eczema that can be caused by a variety of substances. Solvents, paints, industrial chemicals, astringents, bleach, and some fabrics such as wool can cause redness, itching, and burning upon contact. Any irritant that is concentrated or potent enough can cause an irritation whether the person has skin sensitivity or not. Food allergies can initiate a flare-up. This is one of the more difficult sources to identify. Incorporating and removing certain foods from the diet usually determine it. If a food is suspect, it should be confirmed under the care of a physician. Presuming a food is the cause and simply removing it from the diet may deprive the body of needed nutrients while missing the real irritant.
Why Skin Care Products Wont Work!
March 17, 2008
Skin Care Products Wont Work! No skin care or cosmetic product,(or any other product for that matter) will work, unless you use it!
Sounds obvious, right?
But don’t we all have a “graveyard” drawer of unused and never to be used skin care items?
Bought on a whim or from convincing sales pressure, with little thought of how they fit our needs, wants, lifestyles, etc.?
So, what properties make-up your ideal skin care?
1. Ease of use?
Unless it fits into your lifestyle, you wont use it! It ’s that simple!
Unless you’re Oprah or some other celebrity, with others at your beck and call, your skin care is your responsiblity and with most of us already running on over-time, fast and easy is a not just a bonus, it’s a must!
2. Natural and environmentally-friendly?
A growing number of consumers are choosing to use earth-friendly, cruelty-free, natural skin care and cosmetic products. The skin care industry is responding and there are now many sources where these items can be bought.
Choosing the most natural skin care we can find is just a part of the other healthy choices we make, such as not smoking, balancing our diet, exercising and getting enough rest.
The Exotic Origins of Hyaluronic Acid Treatments
March 16, 2008
While hyaluronic acid has exploded in popularity among the cosmetics community, most people are unaware of the molecule’s exotic history.
Hyaluronic acid, also known as HA, naturally plays an important role in tissue hydration and lubrication. Simply put, the protein compound takes years off skin, helping to make it moist, vibrant and supple. HA’s name derives from “hyalos” ? the Greek word for glass, which accurately describes its transparent, glassy molecular appearance.
Most recently HA has skyrocketed to fame as a wrinkle-remover and youth restorer, with new treatments appearing every week. While facial hyaluronic injections continue to be the treatment of choice for many women, most would prefer less-invasive procedures. For this reason, more and more attention has gravitated to treatments such as oral supplements.
Interestingly, the inspiration for hyaluronic acid oral supplements first came from the obscure Japanese village of Yuzuri Hara, not far from Tokyo.
Enjoying the nickname “The Village of Long Life,” residents of Yuzuri Hara have historically restricted themselves to a rather unique diet of locally-grown white and sweet potatoes and root vegetables. Local doctors attest that nutrients in these starches aid the body’s natural creation of HA, thereby allowing the people of Yuzuri Hara to fend off the aging process. Such higher concentrations of hyaluronic acid help skin cells retain their moisture, keeping eyes bright and skin vibrant and smooth.

Let’s take a closer look at what is available in the Ugg line and see if we can’t find something that you will enjoy!
We can start with the trademark Ugg Boot. These boots are a take off of a sheepskin boot that has been worn for many years. They were once used by pilots in World War I and were used throughout Australia as a wonderful way to keep your feet warm during winter. They were even used by Australian surfers who needed a quick way to warm up after riding the waves! Today’s Ugg Boot is a combination of that same warm feeling boot that warmed people and a flare of style. They are offered in various colors and styles, but Ugg is known for their cute shaped boot with white fluff spilling over the top. In fact, some of those that you may have heard of are the Ugg Fluff Momma Boot which features Ugg fluff on not only the inside of the boot but also the outside and the Pink Uggs which was one of the most popular Ugg boot colors.
